So this last fall I was lucky enough to be able to go on a moose hunting trip with my dad, uncle, and grandfather. This has been my grandfather's dream to be able to take me on one, but with me going to school it just has not been possible until this last fall. We went for ten days, and in our hunting party of 8 people we got six moose. The reason we could get so many is because we had two hagglunds. Hagglunds are old army vehicles that have two cabs and are track and amphibious. They are pretty amazing and they allow us to get to places that normally would not be accessible to people. I ended up getting the biggest moose of the trip on the second to last day we were there! The rack only measured about 53" across but it had 11 brow tines! For all you hunting fanatics out there, this moose had 11 cows with it, and weighed about 2500 lb. before we cleaned it. Here are some of the pictures from the trip!

Wedding!

On June 30th, I married the man of my dreams. We had a beautiful wedding and it was all thanks the help of friends and family. My super creative mother in law did an amazing job with boutonnieres and planning in general. My father in law made me an amazing guest sign in table and cupcake stand holder. It was everything I wanted and more! So I have been very absent in this blog, but hope to continue shortly. It doesn't help that my camera is broken as well as my camera phone. But, I am going to start in on Christmas gifts here shortly so I can start linking tutorials to you that I will be using! I also hope to start posting pictures of some of my last year's hikes (since I don't have a camera for this year) and some of pictures I have from this year as well. I also would like to share what was made for my wedding and how we did it.

The Beginning

Hello All!
I have begun something I never thought I would: a blog. I am not a writer, nor have I ever liked writing that much. What I do love is Alaska, food, and crafting. This is my life. I am an outdoor woman of Alaska who has recently got involved in sewing and knitting, and love to cook. I am happily married at 24 to the most amazing man in the world and have one cat named Simba. So that's me in a nutshell. I dont know if this blog will be what I am imagining it to be, but I am sure going to try! I will be posting my adventures in the outdoors and in the home life. I am so excited to be doing this, and I hope that others will be too! Thanks for reading!
